To the editor: I'm enclosing a poem I wrote to Professor Einstein back in 1955 after reading that he had said there were things in the Bible that weren't true. After reading that, I just had to answer. I felt the poem was an appropriate answer to NASA's evidence that the Bible is true. I'm not 86 and still love to write poetry...

Dear Professor Einstein

I read a passage from your biography, and truly I can't see

Why a many of your mentality can't possibly agree

The Bible is truly history, to be studied and approved.

At times it seems to contradict, but its facts remain unmoved.

Instead of delving into outer space to prove all God's creation,

Relax your brain, bless his name and save this generation.

The atom bomb, which you made way, will soon be obsolete.

It's hydrogen now, a more powerful one, for which they will compete.

To have control of this awesome thing could mean sure calamity,

Especially should it fall to one who lacked a sense of sanity.

If, to me, you could prove life on Earth was in vain,

What profit a man to good or bad if he's not to live again?

A day will come and you will wonder: What is it that quickened the soul?

Then is when you will have found a new theory for your goal.

You will prove what is true and right: God is spirit, all power, all light.

Spread this news throughout the world, to all civilization.

If you fail, we may lose a cause. What's our destination?
