These so-called Missourians Against Cockfighting do not speak for all Missourians. Cockfighting has been a way of life, part of the heritage of this state and most of the southern part of the country, for that matter, since this country's birth.

I do not believe they should attach steel spurs to the birds. They should be allowed to fight with what they were born with. The addition of the spurs is where the cruelty comes in. If they want to ban something, let them ban the spurs. I don't think there would be much of an argument with that. And it would add more sport to the sport.
