LETTERS: EXECUTIVE WAR POWERS NEED TO BE LIMITED

To the editor:

Voters have a surefire cure for the Bosnian pox. This home remedy stops all presidential wars and bogus peace missions which misuse and abuse our war fighters and us.

This disease is constitutional. It is caused by the excessive military power of the executive office itself, not who is president. If it would, Congress could propose an amendment to restrict this power. If Congress does, the people of the states would have the final arguments and word: yes or no.

Until then, presidents will commit us, and Congress will mistreat us with more quackery about supporting our troops. Political snake oil won't cure this power plague, but constitutional medicine will.
