To the editor:
I read the columns of your too-far-right hatchet men ("After Waco, is any really safe?" and "President's pastor and politics") last weekend.
Jay Eastlick sounds like the leaders of the two militia groups, one a Baptist minister and gun dealer, and offered no words of sorrow for those 200-plus families nor disgust for the bombers.
To have gathered his information from First Things magazine, which most people have never heard of, and to say that there were no laws broken within the Davidian complex wasn't the information the public had access to at that time. What about David Koresh's sex with minors? There were others too.
Your editorial board certainly came up short on responsibility when it allowed this column to be published at this time. Those suffering certainly deserved more than condemnation of the ATF at Waco, regardless of their inefficient efforts. Shame on you.
