To the editor: On the conceal-carry law: Why do we have to have people writing letters when they don't understand our system? I want to keep my guns, and I want to make sure they are used in a responsible way. But do we need to conceal a gun? I don't think so...

To the editor:

On the conceal-carry law: Why do we have to have people writing letters when they don't understand our system? I want to keep my guns, and I want to make sure they are used in a responsible way. But do we need to conceal a gun? I don't think so.

There are law enforcement officers today who shouldn't be trusted with a gun. I know a lot of people who will be issued a permit who shouldn't get one.

The newspaper said the legislature overwhelmingly passed the conceal-carry law. The legislators don't seem to realize the public overwhelmingly voted down the right to carry a concealed weapon. But our state legislators don't care what the public voted. Money from the NRA is more important than representing the people who elected them.
