To the editor:Congress has completed its investigation of Roger Clemens and the performance enhancing drug issue. Am I supposed to get a warm, fuzzy feeling and congratulate Congress on its diligence in such an important national issue? I think not.
Oil is at record high prices. This is causing serious inflation issues in all aspects of our economy, not just in gasoline prices, but food and everything else we consume. We are teetering on a recession. Our border security is in shambles. The promised border fence will never happen. We have Islamic fanatic terrorists who will wreak havoc on our country again if given half a chance.
But the politicians, in their infinite wisdom, apparently believe that such an all-encompassing serious issue as to whether or not an athlete took a drug supersedes any of the other issues facing the country. They wonder why they have such a low approval rating, while all they do is bloviate and hector each other while accomplishing nothing of importance for the country.
