Among the more than 800 guests Southeast Missouri Hospital's annual association dinner last this week were St. Francis Medical Center administrator John Fidler and several board members. It is good to see continued cooperation between Cape Girardeau's fine medical facilities.

In fact, cooperation was a point of discussion by keynote speaker John Horty, president of the National Council of Community Hospitals. He praised Cape Girardeau's fine collaborative health efforts. Horty said that at no time in our nation's history has community collaboration been more important.

We heartily agree. By working together, Cape Girardeau's standing as a medical hub can only be enhanced.

This annual association dinner offers an impressive opportunity to showcase the advancements and accomplishments of Southeast Missouri Hospital. It reminds both association members and the community that good health care doesn't just happen. It happens through commitment, planning and caring people.
