According to a report presented at the recent Jackson School Board meeting, more students in the district are looking at the A+ Program.
Amanda Forester, A+ coordinator, said 62 seniors are "on track;" she expects the number could reach 100 by the end of school this spring. During the 2012-13 school year, 95 students were eligible.
The A+ program provides some basic guidelines, and if students meet the criteria they are eligible to receive financial assistance to attend a Missouri public community college or career/technical school.
The program is not a fit for all students, including some who know they will attend a four-year institution. However, for those who may consider this route, A+ can provide much needed financial aid to further post-high-school training.
We're pleased to see student interest in A+ and hope more consider the program.
