To the editor:
I grew up and went to school in Cape Girardeau. I have been back on visits many times. I was there over the past weekend to attend the funeral of a relative. As we drove from the funeral home to the cemetery, I noticed the respect for the funeral procession, which is not common in most areas. Not only did the cars pull over as we went by, there was a gentleman changing the sign at the entrance to Arena Park. He stopped working and held his cap over his heart as we drove by. This brought a tear to my eye. God bless him and others like him.
