Job creation in today's economy doesn't come easy. Many big corporations are scaling back, reinventing themselves or moving jobs overseas.
Many of the jobs created in the United States today are done so by entrepreneurs.
This week is Global Entrepreneurship Week.
To celebrate, the student-focused Douglas C. Greene Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Institute for Regional Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Southeast Missouri State University are hosting an interactive symposium.
According to a news release issued by the university, the event will be from noon to 1:15 p.m. today in the Glenn Auditorium in Dempster Hall on campus.
The focus of the program will be exploring approaches to the creative process.
Wendy Cooper, Southeast assistant professor of commercial photography; Erin Fluegge Woolf, Southeast associate professor of management; and Chris Wubbena, Southeast professor of art, will share their experiences.
The event is open to the public.
Our society depends on entrepreneurs. Such events help create a good culture for innovation in our region.
