It is an accomplishment worth commendation. The 12th member of the same Cape Girardeau family recently graduated from Southeast Missouri State University. All are the children of Ina and John Essner. The first graduated in 1975. The last, Susan, earned her diploma on Dec. 9. And seven have earned their degrees with honors...

The 12th member of the same Cape Girardeau family recently graduated from Southeast Missouri State University. All are the children of Ina and John Essner.

The first graduated in 1975. The last, Susan, earned her diploma on Dec. 9. And seven have earned their degrees with honors.

Since graduation, the Essners have gone on to excel in a number of different fields.

College isn't for everyone. But the Essner family proved that it can be an outstanding family tradition.
