To the editor:
It seems like I get a lot of surveys from a variety of organizations during the winter. There are two things that all these surveys have in common.
All of them are designed to meet a specific criterion that allows the organization to use the resources of government through grants or legislation to promote its agenda. There is no group that is trying to eliminate itself. And our government, through its use of force to take away earnings from individuals at an ever increasing rate, is a gold mine for all kinds of organizations to tap. All of these surveys ask for my opinion. However, they all have set answers to their questions, and for the most part the choices are inadequate.
The second item they have in common is that they all want monetary contributions for their cause. These surveys imply that there is a wrong that needs to be righted or a group that is not being treated fairly.
The only thing we need is an end to the federal income tax. This will effectively curtail many harmful, manipulating programs that are stifling the inventive can-do, create-wealth mentality that prevailed in this country and still can be found among the 50 percent of us who do not work for a government bureaucracy.
