To the editor:Frank Myers' letter inspired a response for several reasons. First was the gratuitous assertion that Bill Palmer (whose letter Myers referenced) was promoting illegal drug use when, in fact, Palmer was not. He simply pointed out that Rush Limbaugh had been treated for an extremely painful back injury and had became addicted. Where, I ask, is the sympathy that is usually forthcoming for the victim? Does the fact that Limbaugh is conservative preclude him from such sympathy?...

Second, the personal attacks against Limbaugh and conservatives in general turn me off. It is much more convincing to have a discussion on the merits of an issue rather than using ad hominem attacks.
