The Missouri Press Association, in cooperation with the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Foundation, is embarking on a noble project aimed at recognizing Vietnam Veterans in conjunction with the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C.

The groups are looking for photographs of Vietnam soldiers who died in combat.

In a series of advertisements running in the Southeast Missourian and in newspapers across the state, the Missouri Press Association is asking for people to submit photos of specific soldiers. In our coverage area, the names are listed below:

Cape Girardeau County: Terrance L. Prock, John S. Burford, Stephen B. Peel, Robert L. Taylor Jr., Robert L. McCallister, Bill J. Hogan, Jr., Carry O. Price and Earl W. Tharp Jr.

Scott County: David L. Blattel, Clyde L. Keith, Dwight D. Woolf, Ronald G. Dobbs and Larry H. Marshall.

Bollinger County: Orval W. Mcleary, David K. Pomeroy and Phillip P. Summers.

According to the advertisement, the "Faces Never Forgotten" project aims to collect photos of the nearly 59,000 men and women who served and died in Vietnam. The collected photos will be displayed at The Wall's Education Center and online at www.vvmf.or/Wall-of-Faces.

To add a photo online, visit www.vvmf.org/how-to-submit.

This is a good project to remember those who lost their lives while serving our country. If you know any family members of the names listed here, please help spread the word so not just names, but faces, can be remembered and honored for future generations.
