Chamber's inspirational speaker

I am writing to commend the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce.

On Friday I attended the monthly First Friday Coffee event at the Show Me Center. The special guest speaker was Ronald M. Shapiro, author of "Dare to Prepare." The event was well-organized and well-attended, and Mr. Shapiro was a captivating speaker.

His one-hour talk was so informative that I am going to propose to my company's regional staff that all the team be encouraged to read the book.

The opportunity to see this level of speaker and motivator for free is unheard of, because the costs involved are usually very high. Our chamber was able to do this for its membership and the members' guests at no cost to them. Amazing!

In addition, I would like to thank the Southeast Missourian for providing Mr. Shapiro's book for attendees and Mr. Shapiro for signing them.

As territory manager of RSC Equipment Rental, I travel a large geographical area and have the pleasure of being a member of several fantastic chamber organizations throughout the area. I am always in awe of the accomplishments and benefits of ours and thankful to be a member of the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce. Our staff, resources and membership are shining examples of what a chamber should be. Congratulations to you all.
