They had five years of booze-free Halloweens to think about the right way to celebrate -- you know, the way most people do it. Most people dress up in some silly costume and enjoy spending time with their friends. Others stay at home and greet trick-or-treaters. The fuddy-duddies among us turn off the lights, sit in the dark and wait for it to be over...

What most people don't do is get drunk, damage property, fight with each other and get pepper sprayed by the police

SIUC students don't deserve Halloween. And if the city fathers have any sense, they'll take it away for good.
