'Candidatespeak' cause for concern

To the editor:The things some of these macho candidates for president say really concern me. They say they are going to aggressively destroy the worldwide threat of Islamic fundamentalists. This will do nothing but bankrupt us and alienate possible allies. Didn't we learn anything from the containment policy that started with the Truman administration? There are so many flaws in religious-based governments that they will destroy themselves. All we have to do is be vigilant and stay united with our friends. President Bush is bankrupting our country in more ways than one.

By the way, we ought to have a moratorium on two terms used in the political discourse until after this next election: liberal and right-wing.
