To the editor:
I am not going to lose any sleep over the dismay felt by The Wall Street Journal (Aug. 31 editorial) at learning that there might be a symbiosis between the Democratic Party and labor unions and that -- horrors! -- labor unions might have input into Democratic Party policies.
I might be wrong, but it is my recollection that after the Republicans took over the U.S. House in 1994, lobbyists for Big Business were granted access to the offices of the various House committees that were formulating new laws -- even to the extent of being allowed to use the word processors in those offices to ensure that no goody would be omitted. One might expect the Journal to be put off by those shenanigans, except for one thing: The Journal has about as much tolerance for democracy as Superman does for kryptonite.
