He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Hughes of Charleston; a brother, Robert Hughes; four sisters, Betty Hughes and Carrie Willey of Wilson City and Diane and Brenda Hughes of Charleston; and a daughter of Bloomington, Ill.

Funeral and burial will be held Wednesday in Denver.
