He was born Aug. 25, 1958, in Kankakee, Ill., son of Rufus Roy and Shirley Sanford.
Sanford was a landscaper and interior decorator in Houston.
Survivors include three children, Glynis, Benjamin and Amanda Sanford; his mother of Benton; seven brothers and seven sisters.
