DeWitt, 69, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 1997, at Sikeston Health Care Center, following an extended illness.

He was born May 9, 1927, in Mississippi County, son of Eloyce Jones DeWitt.

DeWitt was retired from the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include cousins.
