  • At 10 a.m. Mondays, infants and toddlers ages 18 to 35 months are invited to Toddler Times where they will enjoy stories and activities, and parents will learn about prereading skills and how to support them. No registration is required.
  • From 6 to 9 p.m. July 6 and 13, teenagers are invited to after-hours programs with participation in guitar, dance and computer gaming skills. Registration is required. Pizza and soft drinks provided.
  • At 10 a.m. Thursdays, children 3 to 5 years old can participate in hands-on activities with "I Spy" July 12 and "Digging for Dinosaurs" July 19. Registration is required.
  • At 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, preschoolers 3 to 5 years old are invited to enjoy stories, finger plays, music and activities. Parents will learn about prereading skills and how to support them. No registration is required.
  • At 11 a.m. July 11, 18 and 25, children 6 to 8 years old may join a picnic and reading group, the "Lunch Bag Bunch." Listen to stories, enjoy activities based on chapter books and bring a sack lunch; drinks provided.
  • At 6:30 p.m. July 11, children 9 to 12 years old are invited to learn magic tricks with Chris McBrien at a magic workshop. Registrants will receive a list of items to bring prior to the program. Registration is required.
  • At 2 p.m. Thursdays, Kids Can II programs will be held. July 12 features string art, and July 26 features origami and matchstick puzzles. Registration is required.
  • At 2 p.m. July 13, library detectives ages 9 to 12 are needed to solve "The Case of the Mystery Powder," with Central Middle School science teacher Diana Valleroy. Registration is required.
  • At 2 p.m. July 19, children 6 to 8 years old will learn beginning origami and play with matchstick puzzles at the Kids Can I program. Registration is required.
  • From 7 to 9 p.m. July 20, children 9 to 12 years old are invited to an evening of Harry Potter Hogwart's classes. Practice science skills in potions class, craft a charm bracelet in Defense Against the Dark Arts class, make plot predictions in divination class, and test your trivia knowledge in history of magic class. Registration is required.
  • At 6:30 p.m. July 26, archaeologist Larry Kinsella will present a family program on arrowheads, axes, artifacts and archaeology. All ages are welcome, and no registration is required.
  • At 10 a.m. July 26, toddlers ages 18 to 35 months are invited to Early Explorers Rhyme Time. Registration is required.
  • At 2 p.m. July 28, the summer reading club ends with a library celebration. No registration is required. Children of all ages are invited.
