"Two Strong Men"
Once a strong man, Mr. U was in a car accident and his legs no longer support him. Spending his days in a wheelchair, he lives off disability. Mr. U would like a trapeze bar to strengthen his legs and art supplies to keep his mind sharp. He enjoys coffee and needs a new coffee maker with instant coffee and would like a full size mattress topper to make sleeping on his old bed more comfortable. Additionally, he could use a 3X jogging set, XL gloves, and a small stereo system.
A single dad, "Mark," works two jobs and depends on his neighbors to help care for his two children, a young boy, age 4, and a young lady, age 7. He knows that watching his little girl grow up without a mom around may be difficult and needs our help to deliver "girly" gifts for her under the Christmas tree. She likes Monster High, arts and crafts, and would like to have a radio to dance to. "Mark's" little boy enjoys building things and would like Legos, Tinker Toys, or other building sets. He also enjoys baseball.
To get involved in helping individuals like those mentioned above this year for the holiday season, toy items, elderly contributions, and monetary donations may be made at the Southeast Missourian or at other businesses across Cape Girardeau (look for full listing in the Southeast Missourian or at my blog on semissourian.com). The Cape Jaycee Toybox and Christmas for the Elderly Programs Donations are accepted until December 20th. Thank you for your continued support!
