SEAL team has 2 high-point finishers in Ozark meet

The SEAL swimming team participated in the Ozark Championship meet in February at the St. Peters Rec Plex with 700 swimmers from eastern Missouri and southwestern Illinois.

Thirteen of the 22 SEALS swimmers had top-16 finishes.

• Ryan Gibson was the high-point winner for boys ages 13 and 14, while Connor McGinnis won that honor for boys ages 11 and 12.Members of the team with their age groups and their finishes:
• Logan Bollinger (15 to 18) -- 14th in 100 backstroke; seventh in 200 butterfly.
• Taylor Feeney (10 and under) -- 11th in 200 individual medley, 11th in 100 breaststroke, fourth in 50 breast, 15th in 100 backstroke.
• Katie Garner (13 and 14) -- 15th in 100 back, 13th in 200 fly.
• Greg Gibson (15 to 18) -- eighth in 100 back, 16th in 50 free, ninth in 200 back.
• Matt Gibson (11 and 12) -- fifth in 100 fly, 16th in 100 back, ninth in 50 fly.
• Ryan Gibson (13 and 14) -- fourth in 200 IM, third in 100 back, first in 100 fly, first in 200 fly, first in 50 free, second in 100 free, fifth in 200 back.
• Caleb Heisserer (10 and under) -- 16th in 100 fly.
• Mary Catherine Ford (15 and over) -- 15th in 200 breast.
• Connor McGinnis (11 and 12) -- third in 200 IM, first in 500 free, first in 200 free, third in 50 back, third in 100 IM, third in 100 free, first in 100 back.
• Abigail McMullen (10 and under) -- eighth in 50 breast, fifth in 50 fly.
• Brittany Menz (15 to 18) -- 13th in 500 free, sixth in 200 free, 14th in 100 back, 11th in 50 free, 13th in 100 free, 13th in 200 back.
• Riley Talbut (13 and 14) -- 10th in 200 breast, 13th in 100 breast.
• Cailyn McGinnis (15 to 18) -- ninth in 200 IM, 11th in 200 free, 10th in 100 back, seventh in 200 fly, 11th in 100 breast, ninth in 100 fly and sixth in 400 IM.

Relay results:

• 10-and-under girls (Feeney, Abigail McMullen, Caroline Schott, Madison Heisserer) -- ninth in free relay.
• 15-and-over girls (Menz, Cailin McGinnis, Ford, Gabie Newton) -- 10th in free relay, ninth in medley relay.
• 11 and 12 boys (Brandon Menz, Parker Smith, Connor McGinnis, Matt Gibson) -- sixth in free relay, sixth in medley relay.
• 13 and 14 boys (Thomas Kirk, Talbut, Coleman Schott, Ryan Gibson) -- 11th in free relay.
• 15-and-over boys (Matthew Caplan, Jacob Buckenmeyer, Logan Bollinger, Greg Gibson) -- 10th in free relay.
