THE PUBLIC MIND: THANKS EXPRESSED FOR ARTICLE ABOUT BICYCLE RACING

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Spirits of St. Louis Cycling Club and the Human Performance Center, I would like to thank the Southeast Missourian for the excellent article entitled "Wheels of Fortune." The story, written by Bill Heitland along with photos by Fred Lynch, was an excellent depiction of amateur bicycle racing in the United States.

You are fortunate to have these two professionals on staff at the Southeast Missourian. Both were extremely helpful and considerate of our efforts in developing competitive cycling. Mr. Heitland's ability to engage the reader's interest by capturing the personal and emotional aspect of whatever story he is covering is a rare trait.
