THE PUBLIC MIND: FORMER BASKETBALL STAR GIVES THANKS FOR CENTER BENEFIT

Dear Editor:

I would like to take a moment to thank you and all sponsors for supporting the Alumni Shootout. I can't tell you how much I appreciated being back in Cape Girardeau and seeing former players, coaches and fans. I really enjoyed myself and I hope the fans enjoyed themselves too.

I would like to say special thanks to Jon Rust, Calvin Bird, and Dwayne Rutherford for putting together a great moment for former players to benefit a good cause like the civic center. I hope the money raised can be used to better the civic center and to help younger kids do something besides hang out on the streets.

Again, thank you Southeast Missourian and especially thank you fans, or should I say long time friends, for creating another special memorial moment in Cape Girardeau for me. I am looking forward to next year.
