Dear Gary and Ray:

Thank you very much for the excellent treatment by the Southeast Missourian and Ray Owen on the Health Careers Foundation. I especially appreciated the editorial mention in your newspaper of Oct. 6 since what we are doing is just part of the overall equation of filling the need in health careers. Because it is somewhat fragmented, many people in Cape Girardeau do not realize that the largest single employer in our region is the healthcare industry.

That industry is growing rapidly and has a substantial number of unfilled jobs that require health careers education. Efficient reeducation and retraining of workers into that field will help single parents find meaningful jobs, will assist factory workers to upgrade their skills and will increase each individual's overall satisfaction with their work experience.
