Parking or fountain?

Better stoplight
THANK YOU, Jackson, for changing the stoplight at the intersection of Highway 61 and Shawnee. Since most people are either too lazy, dumb or inconsiderate to use their turn signal, it was anybody's guess which way they were going to go. This is a definite improvement and should help avoid several accidents, not to mention high blood pressure.
Covering the bases
THIS IS in reference to the person who commented about the police chase involving Scott City police and how they ought to stay in the city. I would like the caller to tell us how the officers are supposed to go up Nash Road and Diversion Channel bridge which is in our jurisdiction. If we're not supposed to be on the highway and stay in town, then how are we supposed to go to jurisdictions we are supposed to patrol?

Prisoners who sue
MY COMMENT is about how all these prisoners are putting out frivolous lawsuits that don't make any sense. They're in prison for a purpose. They're in there because of doing a crime. I don't think they should be able to sue anyone. They lost their rights when they committed the crimes to be put in prison in the first place. If they wouldn't have committed the crimes they wouldn't have been there, and they wouldn't have to worry about suing over every little thing, such as melted ice cream or underwear too tight or spilled milk on the floor.
Hotel parking
IT SEEMS to me it would be far more responsible to take the parking lot behind the federal building and add on whatever space for offices they need there, then acquire the Marquette Hotel Building across the street, build a parking garage with a walkway over the road so that people could walk from their cars to the federal building. It seems like that would be far more less expensive than the alternative of acquiring a new site and building a whole new building with parking there too. I mean, can't we cut some corners and get what we need for both parties?
No proof yet
I BELIEVE the caller who connected Mr. Clinton with the banks in Arkansas and what goes on down there needs to get his facts a little straighter. There's been no proof that he's had any connection with the banks that have had trouble. We haven't come up with anything that I know in the Whitewater deal. We've found deals that have gone wrong that have no connection with Whitewater whatsoever. A lot of accusations have been made, but you should have proof before you start running off at the mouth.
