IN RESPONSE to the Southeast Missouri Hospital employee who is responding to the St. Francis employee, I would like to make one comment. He started off his comment by saying "there a fear of losing one's job which will effect Cape's economy." Nothing could be further from the truth. If the hospitals do not merge, the threat of losing one's job is much more significant. And in regard to the Medicare issue and Medicare cuts, evidently that employee did not read that the impact of Medicare affected not only the elderly, but also it affects the reimbursement the hospitals receive. I think before these employees start making comments, they need to read and try to understand where the health-care field is at this time.
IN RESPONSE to the person who would like to have Jerry Springer taken off the air: Just remember that freedom of speech not only allows everyone who's called into Speak Out about Clinton to have the safety to not be awakened up in the middle of the night by the Gestapo, but also helps and works for the people who are Satanic, lesbian, porn stars. Jerry Springer was a fine, upstanding person, at one time as a Republican mayor of Cincinnati. Keep that in mind next time you call him despicable.
THIS IS in regard to the hospitals' merging. I feel like they are not really going to decrease competition by merging. The main competition, I feel, is in St. Louis, Memphis and the outer area.
BILL CLINTON is just a symptom of what is wrong with our country. When you take God out of everything, this is what you get. It is time for this country to get down on its knees and repent of our sins, Christians and everyone alike. We have committed abortions, adultery, pornography. We have taken prayer out of schools. There are children killing children. The suicide rate keeps climbing. Why? Who are we to cast the first stone? The Bible says, "If my people will humble themselves and repent of their sins and seek my face, then shall I hear from heaven and heal their land." This is the only way we stand a chance. If we don't do this, God help us all.
MOST OF the women's lib, the black community and the Democrats attacked Clarence Thomas when Anita Hill accused him of talking about a pubic hair on a Coke can, but they think what Clinton did is just bad government. What hypocrites.
IN RESPONSE to Carol Poole's letter to the editor, she thinks the list of Clinton's friends who have died is far too long. Well, I think her letter was too long. Exactly what are her qualifications to all but assert that Clinton has had something to do with the deaths of this list of 40 or more people? The Republicans should be very proud of her and her diligence in digging up all these names of people that Clinton supposedly murdered, especially considering that half the people have never heard of most of these people. She's really been doing her homework. Maybe if she gives her information to the Judiciary Committee we could imprison Clinton for murder rather than impeach him. I'm sure Mrs. Poole would love that. Come on, people, aren't you Clinton haters taking this just a bit too far?
IT WAS amusing to read the letter from the person who said his letter to the Post-Dispatch was not published and that the Missourian was a honest newspaper. That was the best laugh I had all day. I'm sure the Post would have gone broke had he canceled his subscription. The Missourian is so one-sided I would have canceled my subscription if it weren't for the death notices.
I'M CALLING in regard to the comment "Paying off the debt" in Speak Out, in particular, the fact that Reagan and Bush are responsible for the huge increase in national debt from 1981 to 1993. In fact, that increase was caused by a heavily Democratic Congress that refused to cut anything out of government and continued to run up the deficit to stratospheric heights. A case could be made for the Reagan-Bush program that now any future increases have to be reduced from the budget itself or they cannot be allocated. What a change over what we've had for the last 30-40 years with the Democratic control of Congress.
WITH MR. Clinton's moral record and history, would anybody give him a job as a teacher, a counselor, a leader of a youth program? No. His qualifications as a public official or employee wouldn't be accepted. If any law enforcement officer would have lied or committed these perverted acts in their station or office, the Democrats would call for his head. What hypocrites.
I THINK the Missourian ought to put a moratorium on presidential comments. We all know what he did. We're all appalled by what he did, and our little comments are not going to make one little bit of difference in the overall scheme of things on whether he resigns or is impeached. I think we ought to quit having them. I'm sick of seeing them, I'm sick of hearing about it everyday. Let's cease and desist, please.
