Answer to beach closings: Have you ever thought about your Congress members you voted in who are now taking five weeks' vacation? Figure out how much that is costing with the entire membership they have. This is beside all the time they have taken off before for all the holidays, let alone their campaigning. What have they got to show for it? Not one good thing.

Common Core

I'm really getting tired to the conspiracy people bashing Common Core Standards. So far all I'm hearing are vague comments without any supporting facts. If you have a specific issue with one or more of the standards and can show why they are faulty, then say that. But stop the fear-mongering.

Nixon, tax cut

Thank goodness Jay Nixon is the governor of Missouri. His ability to veto crazed legislation passed by the legislators in the Missouri General Assembly may (if the veto is not overridden) keeps Missouri from becoming the first state to be asked by the sane to please, pretty please, peacefully secede from the Union.
