Mail service

TO the people complaining about the time your mail comes, Cape Girardeau Post Office happens to have four routes without regular carriers on them. There is a hiring freeze on. We have carriers that have been out with serious illness. We have carriers out on vacation. So when your mail gets to your house earlier or later than "normal," it's because we double up on open routes, casing and carrying. Your mail will be there when the carrier gets there. We miss Bill too, but he wasn't on the overtime list. We are required to sit on the route for our 10-minute break. Give us a break. We have families, too.

Huge oversight

I have had so many people ask about the air show this year. I think after just gaining popularity and bringing $8 million to Cape Girardeau it was a huge oversight not to have it.

Close loopholes

EVERYONE I know is hurting and struggling in one way or another. While these politicians bicker back and forth, our country is hurting. Both sides are to blame. Every time I see a Republican on TV, I hear nothing but complaints and innuendoes about the president. What are their ideas? Do they have any others than strapping the most vulnerable of our society? The scare tactics are getting old. Raising taxes is their most popular one at present. When some have so much money they have to have it in more than one bank and houses in other states for deductions, they need to give a little up unless they have figured out a way to take it with them. Loopholes need to be closed.

Potholes

THIS is a warning for people who are traveling west from Cape Girardeau to Jackson through Center Junction. There are a lot of potholes in the road but there is one that will blow out your tire and knock the front end of your car out of alignment.
