Kudos to Ed Draper and Julie Zanzow for creating an anonymous way of reporting suspected online bullying of students who attend Cape Central Junior High. This seemingly simple but ingenious idea should be adopted ASAP by all area schools, public and parochial/private. There is no reason not to do so. Any school claiming this type of bullying doesn't go on among their students is engaging in the tradition commonly known as blowing smoke.
Congratulations to Cape's Parks and Recreation personnel for the Osage Centre-hosted Comic Con. Its success was so overwhelming it exceeded even the most optimistic forecasts for the total turnout. This is a testament to the rapidly growing interest in comic cons in our country and abroad as well as to the ongoing hard work by our top-notch parks and recreation department employees.
Another great year for Comic Con. Only complaint I heard from people was there wasn't near enough room. Hopefully next year will hold it in the Arena Building or maybe even the Show Me Center.
Our new mayor in Jackson is supposed to take office real soon. I think maybe his first job should be to try to get the gravel removed from the city streets. I think the ice is over.
