Weak schedule

HOW ABOUT those SEMO Indians? What are they going to brag about next? Are they going to start playing high school teams? Gary Garner has scheduled the softest schedule he could find anywhere. It's the weakest one in the OVC, and still when they beat someone like Morris Brown they brag.

What's the answer?

I'M CALLING about the Jackson School District. My children go to Jackson schools, and recently they added five days onto the school year even though we only missed four school days. There was a lot of talk about why we're making up five. I told people instead of talking about it, call them and ask. So I called the board office and asked them if we don't miss any more snow days are we going to get that one day back. The woman I spoke to said no. I asked her who I could talk to, and she said they were all busy. I called back two more times, and I can't seem to get an answer to my question. This is what I am talking about. They don't communicate with us. They don't answer our questions. Yet they want more money.

Give us explanations

MR. GARNER -- may I just call you coach? -- Coach, why do you write column after column whining about what a tough year it has been for your poor Indians? Your next column should explain in great detail how your team went from NCAA contenders to near the bottom of the OVC standings in one season and what you plan to do about it. Your readers don't want excuses, they want explanations.

Chance to volunteer

I WOULD like to comment on the Scott City resident who called in about the cleanup in the town. If the resident is so worried about abandoned vehicles and cleaning ditches, he should offer his time to help Scott City.

Taking the credit

TO THE caller who said liberals were responsible for the Revolution, Social Security and a 40-hour week: The colonies had very strong Christian values. The liberal draft dodgers and atheists wouldn't help out there. Social Security and a 40-hour week were decent Democrat ideals held by Republicans.

Enough of the mugs

IF THE city would like for us to watch notices on the public access channel, please get the mug shots off. They have been on there long enough.

Just a puppet

I'VE RECENTLY read a lot of comments about Sen. Jean Carnahan regarding her vote against John Ashcroft. Don't blame her, it's obvious she is nothing but a puppet who takes orders from the Democratic Party.

Out of patience

I WOULD like to tell Coach Gary Garner the reason he can't get over the hump. It's because he hasn't got the big man to get him over the hump. And who's fault is that? I am a season ticket holder, but my patience is about to run out.

Doesn't make sense

I SAW that gas might go up in Illinois to $3 a gallon. I would like to know the reason for this. I'd like to know how come we have our gas wells over here and gas is going up like that.

Good delivery rate

I'M CALLING regarding the post office losing mail. In my experience, the post office has not lost any mail that has been delivered to me, and from what I understand they do really well. They have the best delivery rate out of all of the nations in the world. In my opinion the post office does a pretty good job.
