IF I had a teen age 14 or older, I would encourage them to go see "Sarah's Key." If you can't read, you won't want to see it because it is a foreign film and you must read it. In this age where everything seems to be action or general silliness, this is a movie that is much like Anne Frank, although I do believe this is just fiction. Our youths need to be reminded of how terrible this world can be and was at one time and that we must never let it happen again.
PRO-CHOICE? What about the rights of the unborn? Those of us who love and have compassion should speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves.
I, too, am disgusted by the commercialization of Halloween and rushing Christmas and squeezing out the Thanksgiving holiday. We're Christians, and my house and I choose to serve the Lord. We will in no way celebrate Halloween. We do love the fall season and we definitely celebrate Thanksgiving, hopefully everyday of the year. But please allow us the Thanksgiving season without rushing up all the Christmas decorations in the stores. Wait until after Thanksgiving for that, and we will appreciate it.
I have something to say to all the people out there that are thinking about dumping an unwanted dog out on a country road. Please do not do this cruel act. I live on that country road. Do you know what happens to your unwanted puppy or dog? It becomes coyote food. Yes, I am serious. Think about it. That's so cruel.
TO the person who found my wallet Oct. 31, there was enough money and information that would enable you to mail it to me. I am aware that I will never get my cash back, but the other things are important to me. If you don't want to mail it to me, drop it off at the Cape Girardeau police station. This would be greatly appreciated, as the pictures are important to me.
THERE was an unidentifiable green substance found along a creek, and it took five fire trucks. It sounds to me like the boys didn't have anything better to do, so they used these fire trucks to go take a look. What a waste of taxpayer money.
