I have a retort to the Speak out claim that said President Obama is weak and indecisive: Osama bin Laden.
I can't believe that people in the Cape Girardeau School District have nothing better to do than complain about a dress code. I think anything that helps our children is well worth it. Also, we heard the same things from the Scott City students and parents last year. Now there is not one complaint because it's working. Change is good.
THIS gives a lot of insight into the mindset of Willard "Mitt" Romney. Romney was recently asked about the taxes he pays and the income he receives. One of his sources of income over the past year was speaking fees, an amount he referred to as "not much." The amount was $375,000. Not much? Really?
I still say as a parent having had children in schools that wore uniforms and that did not, I am all in favor of them. It is easier all around on the parents and the children, because the money that you would have spent on those expensive jeans or shoes or shirts, you won't have to buy as many. If you are wearing uniforms five days a week, you don't need those same five outfits that are going to break the bank.
OUR president has asked for an automatic increase in that national debt limit. Well, we've spent too much money. It's a lot like if our family had spent too much money on a credit card and instead of trying to pay down the credit card we just called the credit card company and asked for an increase in our credit limit. Our country is the same position. Our country has overspent. Now it's time for us to underspend and get our debt down.
I see that the president, or I should say the worst president in the history of the United States, has decided to continue his legacy by turning down the Keystone pipeline. Apparently he is not too interested in job creation.
THIS is in response to tacky windows: I can tell you why I have tin foil over my windows. I have had two cataract surgeries on both eyes which left me with severe glare problems. I also have macular degeneration and get severe migraines. I am sorry I did not get your approval first. Learn to live with it. I have.
THERE is a little-discussed issue concerning Cape Girardeau's possible move toward a uniform dress code in the public schools. It gives principals an added way in which to reward good student behavior by giving them a "dress down" day as a reward, thereby allowing the students to revert to wearing fashionable designer clothing -- which is approximately 10 to 15 times more expensive than the proposed uniforms. Of course, the more dress-down days the students earn, the more expense is incurred by status-conscious parents and students anxious to keep up with the latest trends in clothing lines. If this is carried too far, parents might actually end up spending more, considering the cost for required school uniforms plus the additional cost of keeping up with the latest trends. Still, I think the benefits of school uniforms outweigh the extra costs caused by legitimately rewarding the students with expensive dress down days.
HOUSE arrest for the captain of the cruise ship after this horrific incident? This is totally unacceptable.
