Sales tax is better system

What a great idea Marble Hill has in having a sales tax increase and doing away with property taxes. This way everyone will pay their fair share instead of the tax burden falling on the homeowners, especially senior citizens living on Social Security. It's so sad, but I know people who have had to sell their homes because they couldn't afford the real-estate taxes. This would bring in even more revenue from out-of-town shoppers. This is an idea that should be strongly considered for Cape Girardeau, and I would be first in line to vote for it.
