Caring, compassion and a broad knowledge of medicine are a few words use to describe the qualifications of a public administrator. Only one candidate meets all of these requirements. I know from firsthand experience. Eight years ago my mother was diagnosed with skin cancer on her face. Mom had never been in a hospital type of environment in her 82 years, and the only medications she had taken was a daily baby aspirin. She was extremely nervous and apprehensive about the whole procedure. From the time that Dr. David Deisher's nurse came to the waiting room to get mom she reassured and soothed mom's fears. After the procedure, she explained carefully and slowly how to take care of the incision, interactions of the medicines, and even made a follow-up call to check on mom. Three years ago, I met that nurse. Her name is Lisa Reitzel. Lisa has all of the needed qualifications and many more to fill this position. Now that I know Lisa personally, it is evident to me that her family values and Christian beliefs are of most importance to her. I would trust Lisa with any of my family members, or myself if needed in the future.
