Quarry threatens quality of life

To the editor:

I live in California but grew up on a beautiful farm on County Road 319 in Cape Girardeau County, a farm still owned and enjoyed by all our family members.

This farm and others (plus homes and schools) are being threatened by the possibility of a quarry that would devastate the air quality, vegetation, animal habitat, land values and quality of life for the people in the surrounding area.

For one individual to profit at the expense of so many would be criminal, and the impact would be irreversible.
