The new Notre Dame High School is an example of how something can be accomplished when everyone pitches in to do whatever is needed to get it done. Ground was broken on the 47-acre tract for the school just two years ago, and the school off Route K will be ready for occupancy at the start of the school year in August. The 114,000-square-foot school, built at a cost of nearly $7 million, will have 30 classrooms that can accommodate 600 students, almost double the school's current enrollment...

The fund drive for the school was almost finished as quickly as it began. Not only did contractors get in and get the job done, but the city saw to it that water lines to the site, which is outside the city limits, would be completed in timely fashion. Easements for the city's line were no problem: They were donated by property owners.

The school is a great addition to an area that is developing and will continue to do so now that city services are available.
