To the editor:
Many thanks for your column in the Missourian Friday. I believe in a strong defense. It is what has made America great. I believe in Ensign Girardot's Navy. I'm proud of the brave warriors who have enlisted to protect the shores of the Only Inland Cape in the World. Who in the world wouldn't want to have that distinction? Many things of lessor value are stolen on a daily basis.
We have to protect our shores and the fine citizens of Cape Girardeau, if need be. Just like Paul Revere and Sam Adams before us, we have to be ready at all times. One never knows when we'll be called by history to take our place in line.
Kurt Angle, WWF champion and Olympic gold medalist is a most worthy inductee into our naval ranks. However, it takes people of many talents to make a strong navy and defensive force. I too stand ready to defend the honor of Cape Girardeau and will help in whatever areas my talents will allow. To that end, I pledge to help find and record all the past enlistees in Ensign's Girardot's Navy. To catalog their talents for those special needs and secret missions. To continue to build a defense for the future of our children and the American Way. Bless you, Mr. Sullivan, for sounding the call to keep our priorities in line.
