To the editor:

It is quite amusing to see how the liberal national media and Hollywood are portraying George W. Bush. They refer to him as dumb, intellectually challenged and a hick. They must be in panic mode to resort to lying to the American people.

I want to set the record straight once and for all. Al Gore in 1971 enrolled in Vanderbilt Divinity School where, according to Bill Turque, author of "Inventing Al Gore," he received F's in five of the eight classes he took over the course of three semesters. Al Gore also enrolled at Vanderbilt Law School where he received his fair share of C's and then dropped out.

On the other hand, George W. Bush graduated with a bachelor's degree from Yale and went on to obtain an MBA degree from Harvard Business School. Who is the dumb candidate?

Unfortunately, the liberal media continues to "Quaylize" Bush at every turn with no accountability. Every spoken word by Bush is analyzed for grammatical accuracy, whereas Gore's gaffs go unnoticed.

On March 9, during an interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN, Gore was quoted as saying, "During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet" A total gaff. Everyone knows Gore did not create the Internet. Also, Gore in 1992 was quoted attacking then-President Bush by saying, "A zebra does not change its spots." The last time I checked, a zebra had stripes. When Gore visited Minneapolis Oct. 12, 1998, trying to raise money for the Democratic state nominees, he tried to summarize their commitment to education: "They will be the education team that Missouri needs to move into the 21st century." Last time I checked, Minneapolis was in Minnesota, not Missouri. I guess he flunked geography too.

I urge every voter to research each candidate this fall and make an informed decision based on the issues and the candidates' qualifications.
