To the editor:
I would like to let you know how much I appreciate reading the Southeast Missourian online. I left Cape Girardeau about four years ago after living there 44 years, and I now reside in Parker, Colo., which is about 25 miles southeast of downtown Denver. We have a wonderful growing town which has a population of about 28,000. Thirteen years ago it was 2,800. Our town is in Douglas County, which is the fastest growing county in the country. We have a great small-town atmosphere, and the people remind me a lot of back home. I am fortunate in that my job allows me to get back to Cape about every eight weeks. My parents, children and grandchildren still live there.
I have been reading with amusement all of the scuttlebutt about the roundabout. Recently I was in Cape and took a look at it. It is just like many that we have in Colorado. I would hope that the good people of Cape just give it a chance. We love them and have grown very accustomed to them. Sometimes change is hard to accept, but it will work out for the best.
