To the editor:
I am a transplant from up North, and all the controversy about roundabouts is quite amusing to me. I have noticed every time a street or intersection around Cape Girardeau or Jackson is widened, it usually is torn up and redone a second time to get the job done right.
Residents voted against planning and zoning in the county. Now they complain about feed lots, cell-phone towers and automobile junkyards being located too close to their property. Or they complain about people using ditches in their neighborhood for trash dumps. It seems to me that more positive thought and less negative thinking before acting would make the complainers' lives more enjoyable.
