To the editor:
We hear so many people saying, "Take back our country." This sounds so good. But with so many crooked politicians it is hard to do so. We hope we made a good start in the last election.
The politicans in Missouri are so arrogant it is embarrassing. Gov. Mel Carnahan is a prime example. The people in Bollinger County voted out a judge we had wanted to get rid of for the last 16 years, but Carnahan crammed him down our throats for another four years as prosecuting attorney. Carnahan picked Bekki Cook, for secretary of state. She held the election of the House speaker open longer so bob Griffin could threaten enough people to elect him again, and she did exactly what Carnahan told her to do. Griffin has had tickets from the police, made threats to a gaming company and is involved in dirty politics in general.
Now there is an honest Democrat in Jefferson City. Rep. Dennis Bonner has proven how arrogant and corrupt Griffin really is. It wouldn't surprise me that, with the help of Carnahan, Griffin will work around all this. Gene Copeland was supposed to be a pretty good guy, but he is no different than Griffin to go along with the crooked stuff. We know how Griffin has treated people in the past who went against him, and this is the lowest of low in politics. Griffin is made of scum from the bottom of the barrel.
I would like to say that Bonner doesn't back off. Some may think he is a donkey in a pasture with thoroughbreds. I hope he keeps letting them know he;'s there. He has more support than Griffin out here.
I hope they get Griffin and he can move over and make license plates. Then bonner will realize it was worth it all to stand up and be counted. Remember, if you don't stand for something, you fall for nothing.
I also think there is another good man on the other side of aisle, Rep. Richardson from Poplar Bluff.
