Is there justice in Scott County? My husband was driving on Highway 77 in Chaffee, Mo., when a truck drove over the left front of our car, causing our car to spin, landing a few feet from the high school tennis class. Thank God our car did not roll. The police report supports this account of the events. My husband was injured severely and will endure the results of this accident the rest of his life.

No one could be found who saw the collision. Many heard the crash, then looked and saw the vehicles spinning away from each other.

Tickets were issued to the other driver. When he went to trial, the information I provided to the police was determined to be hearsay. The judge did not allow the police chief's testimony or his account of the accident scene because he did not have proof with him in court that day to show his training and job experience.

The witness who saw nothing that day changed her account in court and was believed. She saw the collision in a mirror. Based on her word over the police, the judge made his ruling: not guilty. Where is there any justice in this?
