To the editor:

We would like to thank everyone who made the third annual Bluegrass Festival for the United Cancer Assistance Network at the Lake Wappapello Outdoor Theatre a huge success.

We appreciate those of you who donated items for the auctions and concessions. Special thanks goes to Brown Construction for the trailer, to Hazel Mann for the beautiful quilt she cross-stitched for the raffle and to Bud Shell Ford for the Explorer donated for the auction. Special appreciation goes to Billy and Robin Huey for conducting the auctions and to the bluegrass bands that performed.

More than $21,000 was raised for UCAN, which provides free assistance for cancer patients in a nine-county area. Many people will benefit as 100 percent of the money contributed will help patients with their financial needs.

We look forward to next year's festival and invite anyone interested in being a part of the festival and fund raising for UCAN to please contact us for more information.
