To the editor:

This letter is in response to the person who personally attacked Jared Brown and called him an "unprincipled joke" under the cover of the Speak Out column. Brown is one of the most principled people I know, and I'm glad to consider him a friend. Although I strongly disagree with him and the St. Louis Cardinals organization on the issue of stadium financing, that does not take away from my opinion of him as a good, honest person. The person who is an "unprincipled joke" is the coward who personally attacks people through the Speak Out column without having the courage and guts to publicly display his name. The St. Louis Cardinals should be proud to have Jared Brown working on their behalf.
