P&G awarded a generous $500,000 to Jackson and Cape Girardeau school districts for improved technology and computer centers. Jackson received $335,000 and Cape $165,000. The apportionment was based on the number of workers from each community.

Four area schools benefited from Southwestern Bell grants of a combined $15,000. St. Vincent of Cape Girardeau received $10,000 for a new computer lab, and Cape Girardeau, Jackson and Woodland received $2,500 for technology studies.

Thanks to these generous gifts, area schools can keep pace with technology as they prepare students for the future.
