Area's fine arts appreciated

To the editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for your coverage of the signing for my book, "And That's the Way It Was." By so doing, you gave a shot in the arm to the world of the arts.

I have heard it said that there is no interest in the arts in this area. I do not agree. I do agree that a majority of the population may not appreciate the world of fine art, but I believe there are many in Southeast Missouri who do appreciate it.

Thank you for giving coverage to those of us who are not very far up the ladder of success.
