Street Style: Dominique Pratt makes jewelry with class and beauty

Meeting local designers and artists is one of my absolute favorite things to do. The amount of talent and sheer brilliance in Southeast Missouri is definitely something to spread the word about.

Recently I had the pleasure of being introduced to Dominique Pratt. She is the owner and designer of Classy Mama Designs, a collection of hand-stamped jewelry. Also a fashionista, Dominique expresses herself through her stylish wardrobe. I've included a photo of Dominique in front of her Poplar Bluff, Missouri, home doing classic and boho chic in a navy button-down blouse, summertime white trousers and a very cool paisley print jacket. I asked her a few questions about her jewelry collection to share with Flourish readers.

__Q: Why did you start Classy Mama?__

__A:__ I have always loved creating and designing jewelry. As a stay-at-home mama, I had dreams of one day starting my own business and to have something that was my own. I knew I was ready to use my creative talent, take a bold step of faith and finally start making my dream a reality. My interest in jewelry making grew as I started taking online classes and researching the art of hand stamping. My new business venture quickly turned into my new passion!

__Q: What is the inspiration behind your collection?__

__A:__ To me, the most special pieces of jewelry I own have a special memory or moment hand-stamped on it so I can wear close to my heart daily. My inspiration for my brand is to give women a special moment forever stamped on jewelry that they can keep close to them forever. Whether it's a life-changing phrase, unforgettable date, coordinates of a location or a name of someone they love, I can help keep that moment in time close to their heart.

__Q: Where did the name originate from?__

__A:__ I think a lot of women can relate to why I chose this name. Two of the most important things to me are being a mama and feeling classy. I want women to have meaningful jewelry that when they slip it on, they feel classy and beautiful and they can wear it every day! I think every woman wants to feel like that, whether a she's grocery shopping, out with the girls or out on the town.

__Q: What materials do you use and why?__

__A:__ When women invest in jewelry, they want it to last. I use only precious metals that will not flake off or turn colors and that can be worn by women with allergies to certain metals. I have recently added natural gemstones to my designs. I love jewelry that is natural, rustic, yet elegant. It is very important to me to create high-quality jewelry that will last for years and is at an attainable price.

__Q: Your styles are so trendy! What are your favorite clothing or jewelry brands that you find interesting and fashion-forward?__

__A:__ I am such a huge supporter of shopping local and supporting powerful women who are living their dreams. I am always inspired by the fashion-forward designs of Haberdash Soul Co., Shabby Apple, Bask Designs and Kendra Scott.
